(objective)

I am a Creative Communication Specialist.  I help get the point across.  It does not matter what the point is, and it does not matter who the audience is.  If the message is one that I believe in, then I will put all of my creative and dynamic communication skills behind getting that point across.  Whether your audience is one or one million, I can help you communicate anything you want to communicate.  It's what I have done for over 18 years. It's part of who I am.  If you need help finding the right words, I know them.  If you need an organizational or audience-wide communications plan, I can devise a great one.  If you need events staged, press conferences managed, speeches prepared, presentations created, graphics designed, or anything else where communicating a message is important, then I can help you do it right.

ideaLand, Atlanta, GA
Creative Communication Specialist/Owner

I created my own company to continue to service the communications materials needs of various businesses. I market the business, meet with the clients, discuss and interpret their needs, as well as their audience's needs, and I develop effective and efficient creative communication strategies for them. I also publish poetry and articles under IdeaLand.  My client list includes:  Macy’s,
Turner Broadcasting System, Inc./Time Warner (projects for CNN, TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network, Headline News, Turner Classic Movies, Turner South), Cox Communications (projects for Manheim, AutoTrader, Cox Media, Television, Radio and Newspapers), Auto Finance, The Turner Foundation, The Captain Planet Foundation, Hawthorne Visual Communications (projects for TNT, CNN, Headline News, TBS, Cartoon Network, UPS, Country Music Television, HGTV, Food Network, Fine Living, DIY), The Beta Company, SK Treuhand, Georgia Independent Automobile Dealers Association and the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention.

1990 - 2001

Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. Atlanta, GA
Director of Presentation Services

I was hired at Turner Broadcasting as a Presentation Specialist for the Corporate Research Department. I trained staff on presentation creation, hardware and software and began creating presentations for the executives of the company. In 1992, I proposed to those executives that we create a Presentation Services department to service all of the divisions of the corporation. They agreed, and I became Presentation Services Manager. I immediately created an extensive job tracking system to track the actual dollar savings that the new department would give to the company. Seven years later, we had grown to a department of eight people, and had saved the company over $13 million. I met with the executives of the company, helped them plan their communication events, produced the staging and materials and then directed the show. I managed a $500,000 yearly departmental budget as well as the budgets of individual projects. Whether it was in Hong Kong, London, New York or Atlanta, every communication effort that I coordinated was a successful one.  In 1999, I resigned my administrative position and began working only part-time for Turner.  I did this after some considerable soul-searching and decided that I wanted to spend more time using my creative talents to generate positive energy in the world.  So, I went back to what I do best...creating dynamic and effective communications materials for Turner as well as other companies.  In 2001, I asked to receive the severance package being offered via the AOL Time Warner merger. My ten plus years with Turner Broadcasting ended on January 26, 2001.  The Turner Presentation Services department continues with a staff of ten and a savings to the company of over $6 million annually.
